Monodox is a Polydioxanone (PDO) monofilament synthetic absorbable, sterile surgical suture prepared from the polyester, poly(p-dioxanone).
Indicated for use in soft tissue approximation; including use in pediatric cardiovascular and ophthalmic procedures and is not indicated for use in adult cardiovascular tissue, microsurgery, or neural tissue. Monodox is dyed (violet) or un-dyed (milk white). It is available in sizes 7-0 through 2 (metric sizes 0.5-5). The suture is supplied sterile in precut lengths attached to various needle types in one- to three-dozen boxes, or non-needled on ligating reels.
