Polypro is a monofilament non-absorbable, sterile surgical suture composed of a strand of polypropylene, a synthetic linear Polyolefin. Indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use is cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological surgery. Sutures are clear or dyed blue (Copper Phthalocyanine Blue (2-)). It is available in (USP) sizes 10-0 through 5 (metric sizes 0.2-7). The suture is supplied sterile in precut lengths attached to various needle types in one to three-dozen boxes, or non-needled on ligating reels.
