812CG Chromic Gut

Chromic Gut is composed of purified connective tissue (mostly collagen) derived from the serosal layer of beef (bovine) intestines. Sutures are packaged in a formulated solution of isopropanol, water, triethanolmaine and are treated with a chromic salt solution. Mild chromic sutures are specially treated for ophthalmic and cuticular applications. Indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation; including use in ophthalmic surgery, but not in cardiovascular or neurological surgery. Chromic surgical gut suture is absorbable. It is available in (USP) sizes 9-0 through 4 (metric sizes 0.4-8). The suture is supplied in precut lengths attached to various needle types in one- to three-dozen boxes, or non-needled on ligating reels.
